Monkey Party

Mom thought the monkey pictures in the story below look depresing because they were in our 'junk yard' so she wants to add more. Enjoy!

Hello this is Hailey…AND I ♥ MONKEYS

Two days ago (30 Nov) we had a monkey party! There are some monkeys that just hang around our neighborhood and around four o’clock every day they choose somewhere in the neighborhood to play and jump on each other. Yesterday they chose just outside my building! There is a little house across the street from us and a yard with barbed wire around it so animals can’t get in, but it isn’t stopping the monkeys from getting in!

First all the monkeys were on a building to our left. When we went to the balcony all of them started jumping off that building. They crossed the road, then went onto an old tire that was standing against the wall with the barbed wire on top. From there they just jump over the wall. Once all the monkeys got over the fence our neighbors upstairs started throwing food down to the monkeys, we wanted to do it too! Mommy told me and Sloan to go get bananas to throw down to the monkeys. Then Sloan came back with a bunch of them . He gave bananas to me and mommy and he saved some for him to throw down too. The monkeys didn’t even bother peeling the banana…I don’t think they know how to anyway.

It was really fun watching the monkeys. We took one thousand pictures of the monkeys eating and jumping on each other! After a little while the monkeys left but we’ll see them another day.

Hi - It's Aunt Sandy. Sounds so exciting to see monkeys eating bananas. Sam absolutely LOVES bananas. He says nana, nana whenever he sees them. Well, I must admit, there is very little he doesn't like. Tonight I made meatballs and spaghetti (always a big hit in the Quentzel house, a guaranteed sell!). Well, tonight was no exception. Both Sophie and Sam ate like champs, in fact, it looked as if Sam had bathed in spaghetti!! I took a photo that I will send to your mommy's email as soon as I can. It's actually a great photo - one we'll absolutely use as blackmail when he gets older. And then, we took a well deserved bath. Very funny bath story... as soon as we were done, everyone was clean, I let the water out of the bath... but, it wasn't going down. I got so confused. I checked to make sure I had the drain down, I did. Then I looked more closely and, guess what?? Sam's butt was blocking the drain! I moved his tush and then poof, the water started to go down. Hah Hah!!! That is my story for the evening. It's 6:30 pm on Tuesday 12/2, and my job for the day is almost done! YIPPEE! Talk soon. Love, Aunt Sandy, Uncle Andy, Sophie and Sam.

Hailey and Sloan: I need to call you sometime soon. My computer is on the blink so I can't skype you. I hope all is well...you know everybody was thinking about you last week. Hopefully, things will be quiet again. Your monkeys sound so cute...I felt like I was looking out the window with you and Sloan! You write sooooo beautifully!
So what's next on the agenda? Stan and I had a wonderful Thanksgiving in Miami. We even went by Aunt Linny's house! Stan has the nicest family. His daughter has 2 children ages 2 and 5. Sloan, the boy reminded me of you so much. We had so much fun with them. It has been an unusually cold month, but today it has gotten warmer...about 70. Is it still hot there?

Good Morning L,M,H & S,
I am having my Sunday overdose of coffee and reading the NYT like most of NY, and thought I would check in to see how the monkeys are? Perhaps you have started to travel. I look forward to seeing and hearing the next adventures of your travels!
Michelle....we had our first snow last night. It wasn't much, but fun to be out in it strolling home after seeing a great dance performance by the Grad students at Tisch. Hailey....maybe one day I'll see you dance! They were excellent. Off to the mundane duties like laundry and cleaning. Lance...almost afraid to say this, but I have been pain free for 2 days!!!!! You are working your magic powers from afar. Charna
